The railways density indicator  is calculated as a ratio of the railways length to the territory of the region the railway transport in many cases is a structure-forming factor of the region economy. The separation of the region from railway networks or the low density of the railways has a negative effect on the turnover of commodities and the general level of the economy effectiveness.
